lippy - 2/13/2011 08:08 The responses to this post are such that one could almost be forgiven for concluding that a few people who frequent AgTalk think the concept of clear and reliably correct communication has some importance. That's a turn up ! It's all about communication taking place, isn't it? If that ad had never gone public, all the internal people would have understood exactly what it meant. Therefore, it was good enough for communication to take place. However, in a public context, the words as written have the opposite meaning. Not good. I feel that it is important for me as a writer to spend the time to make my words clear. Why should the reader have to work harder to understand what I mean, just because I don't want to spend the time to make it as clear as possible? I'm not always successful, but I do try. |
