I'm gonna start by assuming that your trailer uses a 6 pin plug instead of a 7 pin, so you are going to have to change something somewhere.  If that is true, then in my opinion the simplest answer is to just wire a 6 pin pigtail to the truck hooking to  the combination stop/turn lights on the back of the tractor frame.
