I have an empty acetylene tank that I used for my torch that I changed the cutting head over to use lp gas. My question is can you put lp gas in a tank that previously had acetylene gas in it? Please pardon my ignorance but I didn't know until I saw it on Ag Talk that you shouldn't lay acetylene tanks on their side for use on a service truck.

The acetylene tank has fullers earth and acetone in it, you dont want to mix propane into that. Also the acetylene tank does not have the proper relief valve, and fill level valve for propane. You can buy several BBQ bottles for the value of that aceytelene tank.
