I replaced my openers last year. I also debated between Shoup and Deere. My main concern was the bearings. I knew Shoup would be imported but thought deere might be better. I was at deere dealer and was talking to them about it. They pulled a new opener off the shelf. I popped off the plastic cap and there it was stamped on the bearing. MADE IN CHINA. I bought Shoup and have not regretted.
