What was their reasoning/support for this recommendation. Why would you arbitrarily preselect the size of a management unit without any regard for any data or knowledge of that fields spatial variability.
If this is in fact what these folks are teaching to people, I think they are doing a disservice.
There is lots of software that will do what you suggest, but my bigger question is why?
