| The main thing is to have the confidence it will work, and believe me it will work well. No doubt it is easier to go with beans the first year, as others have said be sure and inoculate. Your 7000 will do the job as will the 750. I have used both. Where I differ from others is I prefer to kill the fescue after planting (beans only). Never had good luck planting corn into anything green. My fear is the fescue dying and laying flat on the ground, then it turning wet and never drying out. Go in there with that 750 and it will lay that fescue down flat. Heavy dose of round up after it has recovered a little bit and you have a mulch there that usually doesn't require a post application (here). With the planter it doesn't lay it down as nice. Planter may also give trouble with row cleaners or closing wheels wrapping depending on what kind you have. Better singulation and depth control with the planter but I haven't found a way to mess up using a 750 yet. You will wonder what you were thinking the first time you are out there planting, but I'll bet they will be your best beans. | |
