LOL!!

The thing is, this is exactly why Apple doesn't run OS X on the iPad. It just requires a lot of resources to run a full-fledged OS. Perhaps someday mobile devices will have processors capable of doing the job efficiently - and battery technology will progress enough to give the things more than a couple of hours of life, but until then we use lightweight mobile versions. The problem is getting data to work well with both mobile and desktop computers. We may very well see desktop OS's "dumbed down" to match mobile OS's just to make a more seamless experience. With mobile computing becoming as popular as it is, users just might start demanding this - OR the mobile device just might become the desktop computer. Bring your phone home, drop it in a dock, and use a full keyboard and large monitor - thus rendering today's desktop setup obsolete.

Either way, it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out!
