This is a potentially very complex question with many different answers. One universal thing I have seen however with deep ripping/subsoiling EVERY YEAR as you suggest is that you will likely totally destroy your soil structure, which in turn will encourage you to do MORE....and yes then you may see a huge jump from doing the ripping - since everything else collapses to structureless concrete. I have been in fields that have been subsoiled frequently and you can hardly walk across them. If you have a compaction problem, deal with it in a dry fall when you have time.
