| I used it for the first time last year, went at a the low rate on all my corn acres which I think was about $3.50/acre. I never did a test plot, but my crop scout recommended it for extended diapause(or something like that) in rootworms. I have a corn-soy rotation, but the rootworms are carrying over through the year away from corn. I mixed it with my 10-34-0-0-.5 and put it in-furrow. Last year they had a promotion that would refund you the money it took to implement the system(tubing, pump, tank, flowmeter, redball gauges) don't know if they are having the same this year. I got about $900 back.
Seed is expensive, and I'll spend $3.50/acre to protect the potential of my perfect picket fence stand since I'm putting down the starter anyhow. I had the second best yields I've ever had last year, and it wasn't because I got a lot of rain. After July I never got a rain over .25" until Nov. so I definitely had some roots finding moisture down there.
And newag is right about not letting it sit overnight, it does settle out. | |
