North Central Iowa | I use Conklin 9-18-9 and like it for the same reasons you do. I think it really depends on your soil and existing fertility. In my area everyone claims that you will see dryer corn at harvest but this last year there was not difference in side by side strips. Other years there has been a point or two difference so you need to figure what it costs to dry. I dont use it on the soil that has had a lot of cattle manure and is in the very high fertility range and other fields I use 3 gals. The best thing to do in my opinion is side by side strips and see what it does on your farm. FWIW | |
