Subject: 4240 John Deere tractor problem

I have a 4240 with 8700 hours. Between mostly 1100-1300 rpm the steering has a "buzz, vibration, chatter?" It has a loader and the loader works fine. Also the steering works fine, no wander or hard turning, etc. It does this after the oil warms up. When you are running the hydraulics for the loader, the chatter is minimal. I read that there are some filter screens in the inlets to the Steering valve (rectangular valve body just ahead of the firewall under the hood.) Could these be plugged and causing the problem? I have read in the tech manual that the valve and valve body are a unit, and have heard that the body if the ports are scored is not serviceable. Any suggestions? Thanks Much!
