No, it's not an interference engine. Pretty easy engine to work on but had some head gasket issues. I've had 3 that made it over 150K miles when the head gasket went, but none of them ever had timing chain issues. About $100 for a head gasket kit. If the head is cracked, another $200 for a rebuilt one on the net shipped to your door.
