Alton, Ia
Congratulations to your grandson, his looks alot better than mine. I'm going guess 73 lb.

Way back when, we went to a Catholic school, couldn't afford those fancy tech tools like popsicle sticks :) Our exercise was done with cardboard, probably leftover boxes from the kitchen. Everybody else had these fancy bridges, lots of railing etc., I took my cardboard, cut it into 1" strips, glued them together to make the structure, another piece on top for a deck. Might have stuck something on the side for a short railing, most kids were like 6 lb., mine was something like 200 :)

Structural engineering was just way to static for me though.......

Up to a few years ago, worked for a local ice cream company. One time we had PALLETS of sticks that were misprinted, had marketing slogan for company A on one side, name of company B on the other. Probably a whole truckload. Landfilled, company did not want them getting out and would not donate them to schools. What a waste.
