Manitoba
I built a dairyfarm in Romania from 2003 to 2006. (50 cow tiestall) Lived there with my family. It was part of a mission through our church. After we left in 2006 the group owning it decided it was too hard and decided to bail on it. That (bailing) is way too easy if doing so does not hurt and things don't hurt much if you didn't do the work and the $ came from someone else. In the end we ended up getting involved again and bought it or some of it with locals we were working with and it is running now. 2nd the things others have said. corruption is part of culture (and just because a country is not communist today officially does not change the way things work. that will take generations) and the work ethic most here making farms work have does not exist there and has not for generations. pretty hard to change that mindset but nothing is impossible.
Not impossible though, what you expect to achieve and the expectations you have (things will be different) will make the biggest difference in whether you stick it out or not. Ag the world over though is a mess in my opinion though. Not trying to be negative but food is too cheap and buyers are too big / too few / too powerfull, regardless where you farm.
