| An amish crew did the work. The truss design was something based off of information I got from national historical program. ( www.barnagain.org might be a link at successful farming website, that is were I found it.) I didn't do much for the design of the truss I mainly planned the layout. I wanted to keep part of the loft to provide support and also provide a place for my office and storage. The open area is 26x50x14. It is not as high as I would have hoped but the doors on the end were free. Even if I had built doors we would have only gained a couple of inches. I wanted to stay out of the braces on the walls (see pic). The cost right now is around $13,000 materials and labor. I would like to keep it under 20,000, but still have to wire, insulate, and paint. Thanks for the kind words and looking any more questions fire away.
