Subject: RE: Outside USA farm expansion

Wallis, TX
Most of my experiences are in sub-Sahara (west) Africa. Problems like anywhere in US, land, labor, capital, equipment, and then add corruption, from government, down to lowest level of labor, lack of infrastructure, generally an uneducated labor force, the intolerance (or lack of understanding) for new ideas and you start to get an idea of what its all about.

The prices for inputs are 1.5 to 2.5 times as high as US but the commodity prices are normally that much higher or more. All in all, I would sum it up by saying, the risks are greater but so are the rewards.

Any more questions just fire away, e-mail in profile if you want more specific information.
