Subject: RE: passive vs active implement guidance

NE Illinois
We have a few guys in the area that utilize Deere's passive implement guidance, iGuide, with good results. A couple have the set up on thier large planter to eliminate draft. It allows them to row crop spray and sidedress NH3 at 12 mph using AuoTrac without shifting the track. The others use it on the strip-till rig so they can plant directly on the strips, even around curves and on hilly terrain. Have very little experience with iSteer. Maybe I will in the future as NH3 bars get larger, as a passive implement guidance system is unacceptable for a side-dress application.
