Jon S - 1/3/2011 05:38 Was there ever an opinion one way or the other on this system? http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200367525_200367525 I was thinking about putting this in my shop. I laid out a design for black pipe, but this seems to be a pretty simple and cost effective system. Just hooking hoses together currently. lol.

RapidAir is made of different componds then PVC - RaidAir is HDPE and has an aluminum core. HDPE will not brittle like PVC and if it were to burst, it doesn't shread in to sharp knife like pieces.
THe only problem I see with RapidAir, it's good to 200psi . . . steel pipe will take much higher psi's (like 1500 and burst of up to 9000psi).
I'm not sure of the difference between RapidAir and Steel, but if it were not that great, I'd opt for steel.
