Driftless SW Wisconsin | Yes, I think what this Taubes is advocating as a healthy diet is about the same as Adkins but he explains WHY - this link from carbohydrates making insulin which in turn leads to a tendency to obesity and fat retention and diabetes. He gives a scientific basis for why the Adkins type, low carb diet works. And Taubes also explains why all this vegetarian type, avoid-meat type, starvation, calorie-counting diets are scientifically wrong, rarely work long-term and can be harmful to your health.
