Hi Glenn,

After Artex was sold, (brain fart, can't remember who bought them) the new company had a hard time figuring out what undercarriage we have on our Artex. They've concluded it is an undercarriage made in Italy. I guess towards the end of Artex's "days", they were getting undercarriages from a few different sources. Which is something I wouldn't think is very good to efficiently manage. Oh well.

You mentioned beaters. We have a vertical beater currently on our Artex. But initially we had their horizontal beater until the vertical was built. The vertical can bust up whatever product we put in the spreader better than the horizontal. I think the vertical beater will have less maintenance cost relative to the horizontal. However, the horizontal gave us a much better spread pattern with our sawdust manure. Since sawdust manure is ninety-five percent of what we handle, if I had it over to do again, I think I would have purchased the horizontal beater. The horizontal was less cost than the vertical too. Oh well.

take care Glenn, hope you have a great 2011, gordon
