| Tire size makes a huge difference... the gearing alone, taller tire will make faster ground speed. You're kind of comparing apples and oranges here. How are the tractors weighted? How are the tractors compared in HP? You said to figure no slip in you r comparissions, then go with the smaller tires, they are cheaper.
I tractor pull with a farmall M with 18.4X38 tires on it. In the 5000# classes I get beat by tractors with 15.5X38 tires. They can get their tires to bite on the track where my larger tires will spin out easier. As I move up to the 6000# and especially the 7000# classes, I can get enough weight on the rear tires that my larger tires are a distinct advantage. | |
