I know some guys who have done something similar with round bales.

What I'd be concerned about.

1) Getting a good seal, obviously.
2) Getting holes in the plastic.(would a silo cover be better/stronger?)
3) Huge face open when you go into a pile.(IF you are using it fast enough or it's cold enough, I suppose this might not be a problem.)
4) Manual labor covering the stacks. (It might be booger on a windy day?)

I think it would be like anything else with silage. Put a good product in, protect it, take a good product out.
