Subject: RE: Do hoe type air drills work in corn stubble?

Southwest Kansas
We've planted wheat following irrigated corn with a hoe drill before, BUT we burn the stubble off first This usually leaves the part thats attached to the root standing upright and gets rid of the rest. We've tried with out burning and just disking but you end up disking numerous times and it will still plug up the drill. Our hoe drill has a 12" spacing, and 3 rows to allow more trash through.
