Greywolf, how do you make wheat pencil compared to 175 to 200 bu corn or 55 to 60 bu beans?? I can't make it work here. Very little wheat planted here. Oats has been gone for years. Some used to plant it But I could never see how it ever penciled. I always came up with negative figures. I suspect they never figured any fertility costs and used "residual". There is a cost wether one applies it or not.
It would be great for manure app though. But bean ground going to corn works for manure. I would not want corn after wheat.
