When looking at math problems such as these it's always helpful to have all of the information.

For instance, what kind of realistic/ slightly pessimistic yield levels are we looking at for all crops considered?

Around here a slightly pessimistic yield level might be as follows:

Wheat/ Beans = 60/ 20
Corn = 130
Beans = 45

Around here a decent yield would be:

Wheat/ beans = 75/ 35
Corn = 150
Beans = 50

And then for the optimistic but still plausible:

Wheat/ beans = 90/ 40
Corn = 180
Beans = 60


I think you see where I'm going....AND I stress that AVERAGES need to be considered. If you really want advice, you might want to lay out the three scenarios and let the board opine.


In all of the above scenarios at today's prices Wheat/ DC Beans wins hands down every time...here. Then there's the risk to consider.
