According to the article they used greyhounds.

As for running them with pickups... Heck Brad, I have kept up with the deer on the flats before on that Honda ATV.

I agree withasmuch that the way they went about it was less then stellar when it comes to class.

On the same hand..... Noone forget that Kansas Game and Wildlife ain't exactly mother theresa when it comes to not doing things underhanded.

packrats released on the solomon to provide food for one of thier beloved game (and damn if I can recall which one it is now.. I keep thinking bobcats)..... was one of thier stupid folly's that they never have taken a bit of blame for with all the damn destruction it's caused.

All this is, is a drop in the bucket. Only reason it's made such a splash is because the men were from out of state. The numbers poached were high and the rumor mill is stating that one of those bucks would of easily beaten the state record but now can't be recorded.
