| Not surprised. How much food that you buy from the supermarket goes bad before it can be eaten. For me, I sometimes buy to much fruit or lettuce. It goes bad very fast. Meat is very expensive. People buy some and it goes bad. Even hamburger is expensive now days. There is a lot of food left in fields and never harvested. The crop is not worth the cost of being harvested. Onions, pumpkins and other vegetables come to mind. In the US, restaurants throw away a lot of food. It is still good, but the criteria are too stringent for most of the food that is thrown away. I would imagine that this is true for a lot of the major nations. | |
