The 3rd axis is for pitch not tilt compensation, you already have that in the ez steer box(tilt). The 3rd axis only seems necessary in my opinion(from my experience with raven's system that has 3D compensation) when you are tilting sideways and pitching forward/backward at the same time. Otherwise it doesn't seem to me that it is really all that necessary(need it here sometimes for crossing deep pivot tracks and on VERY rough ground). Could something in the freeform guidance be causing the jumping? Haven't used freeform, that is why I am asking. Could omni* be causing some of the problems? This fall omni* xp didn't seem near as good here as it has been. Seemed to want to lose convergance easily(out in the open not by trees) and didn't seem as accurate pass to pass.
