I am 55 years old and have owned all kinds of vehicles but our Subaru is KING. Safe, makes winter here in Candahoovia much easier to take and puts the FUN back in driving. That little Porsche engine makes that car go like Jack the Rabbit and the AWD makes it SO much fun on windy twisty roads. Ours is an N/A four but I would love to try the six or the Turbo four. Ya do have to be careful about the "Subaru Effect" though. The car is so stable and traction so good and if you are not watching you can be rolling down the road in bad weather at an unsafe speed and not notice it.
We bought our daughter a Corolla when she went off to University and I wish to heck we had bought an Imprezza. Not as good fuel mileage as the Corolla but a lot safer on winter roads.
