First thank you for your service!!!

Where did you serve?

I recently watched "The Pacific" HBO miniseries like Band of Brothers but set in the Pacific theater.  All I keep thinking was WOW.  What that generation did was unbelievable.  The fact that most volunteered was just incredible. 

My uncle fought and returned from the Pacific - we know he saved a least one person who came to visit my grandparents to tell them about what my uncle did and he did earn a Purple Heart but he never would talk about his time over there and I would never press him with any questions - He only said that war was hell. He passed away this past June.
