That was the case 3-4 years ago but the high qaulity plasmas the last 3 years that is not a problem ... my pioneer is in a well lit room and on sunday I open up all the shades to make it brighter in the room while i watch football . I love plasmas but the manufacturer push is torward lcd and led so the plasma could be dying and that is a shame because it is a far superior technology
