Can someone explain to me what a 'fast stop' is vs say an emergency stop or a crash stop?? Someone once told me, no idea if they even knew what they were talking about, crews would apply maximum braking until just before impact then went to full power to 'tighten' up the train so it wouldn't derail.. any truth to that??
