Farmington IL | I posted this over on yesterdays tractor. I was in disbelief when I saw it go across the ticker on the bottom of the screen. I have been a life long cub fan yet never been to a game but always felt like ronny could make you feel like you were right there with him. Whether he was screaming in excitment or agony about the play of the cubs, or laughing about his hairpiece catching on fire or telling of his work with JDRF I couldnt help thinking how special this man really was. He may not have got into the hall of fame or got to watch his beloved cubbies win the series but he will forever be remembered as a great ball player, a great color commentator, a great cub and a great man. Anyone who hasnt seen the movie about Ron Santo should! It is a good movie, not about baseball but about life.
Today, cub fans lost a announcer, a legend and a friend. | |
