Bow Island, Alberta | Had a couple. First was a 84 2WD 1/2 ton. Excellent truck for just driving. Didn't really ever pull anything with it. Front springs got too soft after a while and put in springs for a 3/4 ton. Rebuilt the fuel pump at about 250,000 km. Put in new rod bearings (pretty cheap and easy) at about 300,000 km. Very good fuel mileage. Always started good, except when the starter needed work and then it just turned over a little bit too slow to start the engine, especially when it was warm. Was still running great when it got run into and bent the frame at 495,000 km. Sold the engine to a grocery store owner who put it into a 1 ton cube van to make weekly trips to the city for supplies.
Second one was a 91 3/4 ton 4WD. Never seemed to have as much power. Still used it around the farm till about a year ago when the engine suddenly started to run very rough. Lots of small problems with it the last few years, but at 525,000 km, I couldn't really complain.
