I went to our local computer store and bought a small directional antennae then connected it to my router where the little antennae was connected. Ran it out my office window and pointed it in the direction of our second house approx 300 feet away. Put an omni directional antennae on the receiving computer and pointed it at our house. Works great. The only thing I wish is I would like an antennae with a longer cable on it. The best I could find is 6 feet.
