I would expect that since the damage was done by washing and not by hail impact there will be no cover, because as far as I know there is no other risks covered than fire and hail.

Hate to say it but I suspect the 100% hail guy will be considered the fortunate one.

Government subsidized insurance here in the states guarantees bushels, a % of your average yield. Doesn't matter if you loose bushels due to too much rain, not enough rain, hail, fire, wind, couldn't plant, etc.
