Southeast North Dakota | In my opinion Chad do not buy a Case-IH. I had bought a new PTX 300 a few years back, and after a few years of fighting those stupid chains that tie all the wheels together to lift the chisel I sold it and went back to 41' CIH 5800. The 5800 and 5850 were the best chisel plows CIH ever made, the PTX 300 and 600 are junk in my opinion. Heck, even the CIH dealers all agree that they never should have gone with the PTX design and stayed with the 5800/5850. If you look at every good brand of chisel plow made they all have one thing in common---a cylinder above every set of tandem lift wheels. It's pretty sad when a customer that came in and bought a new chisel plow ended up selling it because of frustration and went back to an older model! Just my opinion! If you're juggling between the JD and CIH the decision would be pretty easy---go with the JD. | |
