central - east central Minnesota - | I hear, they are looking for help this winter. It seems it has become somewhat seasonal. There isn't enough houseing, so during the warmer months, lots of campers - of the workers, are used. Now, as winter hits, those camper workers head home, cause they can't keep warm or from freezing up the camper. There isn't any where close for hotel/motels and what ones are, are full. Heard stories of some trucker guys living in their cabs, but not sure if that's viable during the winter months. The one buddy that worked up there as a rostabout, didn't get the hours he wanted. Only ended up working about 8 hrs a day. He didn't go for the 7 on 7 off, he just worked every day of the month he could, but only ended up working 7-9 hrs day and had alot of sundays off and some saturdays off. They are moving a bunch of portable housiing in - guess it's coming from the last olympics village. But, that will not make a dent, susposedly, and are all spoken for. It'd be worth a visit to ensure what they offer is real before signing site unseen . . . There are many different types of trucking jobs up there. The ones in real demand is hauling the differering liquids stuff in and out of the tanks. Not a fun job in the blowing frozen tundra during the winter . .. . summer was bad enough - as it was reported.
