Subject: RE: Milking Robots

There are a lot (in the 1000's) of milking robots operating worldwide, first ones are around 20 years old. In parts of Western Europe over half of the new installations for milking cows are robots.

Not really new anymore...

I think it was 10 years ago that the working barn display first was put up at the Outdoor Farm Show in Woodstock. Prior to that, I was aware of a couple installations in this area.

I'm also aware of a couple places where the robots were removed again. With 19 robots and sitting on the lower side of the cows/robot ratio, the stress of having a unit go down seems a bit less.
