Glenn, the 6000 IS designed to apply manure, at least at moderate rates. That is one of the reasons it has adjustable blade angle - so the size of the slot can be adjusted to fit the needs of the material being applied. There will be a bit more soil disturbance than you see in the photos from yesterday since the blade is running at a steeper angle. However at low rate application (maybe under 2000 gal/a?) We may be able to get by with the same size trench as above? There are lots of other issues with manure application however such as width, guidance, compaction, tank vs hose, hog vs dairy, etc that we just don't have the time to get into right now. So for the time being we are focused on anhydrous, dry and liquid fertilizers. Joe has a bunch of different things in the works on the 6000 though. It is going to be a very versatile product when we are done. He and his crew are doing a good job on this product.
The USDA is doing some manure application tests with the 6000 at this time, I believe. Thanks for the kind words. Jim at Dawn
