 Aberdeen MS | Tom,
For the "smaller" acreage guys, the Blue Jet Landtraker might be an option. Mine handles 8 rows of Pluribus easily, it has negative tongue weight even with a 500 gallon tank on top. Factory tank is 1025.
Next year I hope to have another 500 on top (frame is long enough for 2), plus a 300 in front of the tractor. The Landtraker can be outfitted with a 3 pt hitch at the front of the cart and has one at the rear. My plan is putting my sidedresser ( 4 6000's on 60")on the front and carry the Pluribus in the back. Put down 28%, strip, and band 10-34-0 in one pass on one cart. Nice and compact.
5 gpm electric pump will put down 10 gallon per acre easily for the Pluribus and a pto pump can handle the 40 gal of 28% down with hydraulics only needed for lifting the 2 bars.
Smaller frame tractor would be possible that way. As well as dropping off the Pluribus from the back, still able to use the cart for side dressing only.
This fall, with my 2590 Case, .5 gal/ac fuel did stripping and P placement in one pass @ 8 MPH.
I only expect another .1 gpa fuel with the 4 6000's up front.
That would make a true 1 pass setup from combine to planter. | |
