Saskatchewan, big whitetail country!!!
I will step up and admit I am one of the guys who at times shows disgust at some of the young guys NOT ON THIS SITE, BUT AROUND ME. I have no problem with guys like you that realize what you have been priveleged with. It is a few guys who have no clue what they got, yet flaunt it, act like they built it, etc. Several guys around here are farming wth their dads. Many of them have not had to build up a land base on their own, yet they act superior. It is these types that aggravate me at input dealers, when they look down their nose at me and ask,

Them; " So, you got much seeding done?"
Me; "Bout 300 acres, you?"
Them, way to macho, with an air of fake concern; " 2700, still got 4000 left though"

They say this with a straight face, never having bought land, machinery, and while their three hired men that daddy hired mind you, doing the field work for them. They drive new machines and don't get why I don't. They buy land at inflated prices cuz daddys is paid for and he backs them heavily. They buy a new half ton, daddy buys the combine. Daddy buys them their inputs for their first year farming, yet they maintain this air of smugness.

I am all for free world capitalism, but it is the attitude, not the situation they've been given, that is the thing that needs adjusting. Yet there are a few who seem to have some practical thought processes, and are still very friendly, and don't care if you farm 7 acres or 70 000. Just more down to earth...

MO Jeeper, you seem down to earth.
