kings, IL | hey everyone! i am trying to decide if i should purchase some gps equipment for our operation. i'll let you know what we've got to work with. i farm 1600 acres, working on renting another 500, and custom drill roughly 750 acres per year of soybeans and wheat. some years i only do 100-200 acres of custom work and some years i do 1000+ acres depending on the year. i have a JD 8110 that is NOT greenstar ready. i run a JD 7200 12 row planter and a JD 1560 20 ft. drill. both of these chores are run with the 8110. will gps, mapping, and autosteer really make my life that much easier to justify spending the money? i have in the back of my mind to go with the GS2 setup with a 2600 moniter. i priced all that out with wiring harnesses, unlock code for autosteer, etc. BIG STICKER SHOCK. so you guys tell me the pros and cons and if it is really money well spent.
