NC KS | Our area seems to have quite a bit of damage, too. We weren't as far along but we were very cold. Extension office had an evaluation of the wheat Thursday morning with nearly every sample showing damage and more damage than most people thought. Younger wheat seems to be mostly alright at this point but the older wheat has varying damages. I don't think the Board of Trade has figured in the true losses out here. I think there were a lot of feedlots figuring on a bumper crop of wheat to feed to cattle in late summer instead of corn that is in short supply. | |
