According to the CDC, 99.54% of all AIDS cases in 2008 (the most current year available) are the result of gay male to male sex, IV drug use, or having sex with someone who is gay or an IV drug user.

Are you really going to claim that engaging in these activities is not what leads to HIV/AIDS? In fact, only 187 cases were either perinatal or unknown source out of 41,087 reported.
Being politically correct will not keep you safe. Telling yourself whatever helps you sleep at night will not keep you safe. Being armed with the facts will.
And before you pipe up and call someone dumb, do your homework.
Perhaps it would be a good thing if you didn't only read what suited your opinion. The table you refer to states that of the 41087 HIV infections diagnosed in 2008 (an estimate of 37 states by the way), 23610 of them were gay people... or 57% of the total. The remaining 43% of HIV infections is found among heterosexual people either due to straight sex or IV drug use. Pretty good indicator that regardless of sexual orientation, we are at risk. Which means educating kids about those risks.
