Southeast Colorado | You are correct. That is why this thread obviously caught my attention. I'm glad you came on here to state your policy and defend your company. I also would defend my company or anyone I work for unless they don't deserve defending. We took the training but have not started listing yet. We plan to start this winter. Like I stated in my above post, I still like the "no bidder premium" policy that Big Iron has and that is why I chose to contact them over Purple Wave. Most of my neighboring farmers really scream about Purple Wave's 10% buyer's premium. They even scream when a local live auction company wants 1% for loading, etc. The way the original poster brought up his concerns I think it was really important that someone in your company answered his questions for all of us. I too am registered and have bid on several Purple Wave auctions. I do believe that it sounds like you are handling this paticular bidding issue correctly. I'm also pretty sure you mainly brought up my affiliation with Big Iron to kind of down play my statements a little. If you look again at my above comments I think you will notice that I did not bash Purple Wave on anything except the bidder premium. I still stand by my statements. For the record, it has been 19 years since I have had income from any source other than farming. Big Iron will be my first venture outside of farming in a long time. We also plan to continue the farming in a "full-time" fashion. I can definately appreciate both sides of this auction equation.
