Subject: Beware of PURPLE WAVE

Texas

I'm offering this warning to anyone bidding on the sale tomorrow.  I have been used to artificially increase the bid amount as others probably have too.  Purple Wave is allowing my "unacceptable bid" to raise the bid amount that others are bidding against.  It has been said that all it takes to run up a bid is either two buyers or one buyer and a good auctioneer.  Purple Wave is participating in the latter.

I bid this morning on an item that ended up raising it by $14,500 to the same buyer.  My bid has been deemed "unacceptable" until I comply with new conditions which weren't previously disclosed.  I'm not going to comply, but the "new" bid amount is still being used against the current buyer.

I have responded to the email and demanded my "account" be closed since they are attempting to change the conditions after the fact.  If you are a buyer and they demand to have a $1,000 charged to your credit card (which was used for "verification purposes") then ask them where on the web site did they mention that as a requirement for bidding.

Am I the only one that has had this happen to them, or suspected foul business practices with regard to Purple Wave???
