Hastings, Florida | We used to monitor the sheriff's frequency, and when a deputy was dispatched to verify a call before we were dispatched, we responded code 1 , normal driving until the officer arrived. Get a jump on dispatch. The deputy sure liked that.
The deputies working your zone probably do not like the system either, as they do not want to arrive on a bad scene alone, knowing fire/rescue will be a while . Ask them to help you convince your high sheriff to change his policy. Write a letter to your local paper and present facts and times, talk to your county elected officials .Tell your local hospital/doctor to assist you. Get your school involved. I know the principal would not support the current plan. That procedure needs to be changed. | |
