Near-north Ontario, French River
Our guys proudly proclaim they have yet to lose a foundation LOL... All kidding aside though I'd put our local volunteers up against any big city crew any day. We have a very well department, with good equipment, excellent training and dedicated guys. I will say it appears our volunteers are paid much more then those in the US , based on others posts at least. FWIW our 'fire service" is funded through the tax base so when the call goes out they respond regardless of who's calling, as well the departments in the area have 'mutual' aid agreements with each other so even the largest fires in a small community will receive the attention they need from neighbouring departments. check our guys, and gals out at http://www.kingsvillefire.ca
