North Idaho
We are currently overrun with Elk, I estimate $20000 damage to crops this year, I have to wonder if the wolves have pushed them here, the Game department sez no. ??? I would suggest bow hunting, the hunter pressure is much less. Around here we are also overrun with rifle hunters. Last year while seeding wheat durring hunting season it was common to see elk running through the fields from one timberd area to another in the middle of the day. Hunters behind every bush. That is not the case durring bow season. I don't know about the Old Town, Newport area, I am 70-80ish miles south of there.
